Should I leave my monitor on all the time?
PINPOINT® Monitors have been designed as continuous monitors. However, if you wish to activate the units ON and OFF as needed, this will lengthen the battery life from months to years.
I just unpacked my new monitor and found white crystals on the probe. Is this normal?
There may be some white salt (potassium chloride crystals) residue around the clear plastic cap. This is normal and can be washed off with water.
Why does the reading on my monitor never change?
The clear plastic cap must be removed from the tip of the probe so that the values can be measured.
What if my monitor should fall into the water?
PINPOINT® Meters are NOT waterproof and must be operated on a dry surface. Liquid contact with the printed circuit board may cause corrosion and void the warranty.
What is the correct placement of the probe?
Probe should be inserted about 1 inch into the liquid to be measured. Probe may be totally submerged if desired. The probe may be placed vertically or at an angle up to 45º. Do not allow air bubbles to accumulate under a vertically installed electrode.
What maintenance does my monitor need?
Is there anything special I need to do before I store my monitor for a few months?
The sensing surface of the probe must be kept WET at all times. If the probe is to be transported or stored, the plastic cap must be filled with storage solution (pH2.5) or 4.00 calibration fluid prior to being installed onto the probe.
